STYLE SOCIETY PTY LTD – Terms & Conditions of Hire

1. Definitions

1.1 Customer (“Client”, “User”, “You”, “Your”) means the individual hiring a handbag from Style Society Pty Ltd (ABN 68 665 764 214). Customers must be over 16 years of age. By accepting our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms, which form a contract between you and Style Society (“Agreement of Hire”).
1.2 Style Society (“We”, “Us”, “Our”) means Style Society Pty Ltd (ABN 68 665 764 214) or any authorised representative.
1.3 Handbag (“Bag”, “Item”) means the goods supplied by Style Society to the Customer.
1.4 Business Day means any day other than Saturday, Sunday or an Australian public holiday.
1.5 Damage includes (but is not limited to) scratches, marks, stains, discoloration, tears, pulled stitching, broken parts, or any fault occurring while the Item is in the Customer’s possession.
1.6 Debt Collector means any solicitor, insurer or collection agent engaged by Style Society to recover outstanding amounts.
1.7 Delivery Date means the date Australia Post or courier makes or attempts delivery of the Item.
1.8 Dispatch Date means the date Style Society sends the Item.
1.9 Hire Period means the time between the Delivery Date and Return Date.
1.10 Hire Fee means the cost to hire the Item for the Hire Period.
1.11 Payment Method means the nominated Visa or Mastercard credit/debit card.
1.12 Penalty Fee means any fee charged for late returns, damage, loss, or non-return.
1.13 Personal Details means identifying information provided by the Customer (e.g. name, date of birth, address, ID, phone number, email, payment details).
1.14 Return Date means the date by which the Customer must lodge the Item with Australia Post and provide a tracking number.
1.15 Third Party means anyone other than Style Society or the Customer (e.g. family, friends, acquaintances).

2. Agreement of Hire

2.1 An Agreement is formed once the Customer accepts these Terms and pays the Hire Fee in full.
2.2 The Agreement ends when the Item is returned in accordance with these Terms.

3. Orders & Payment

3.1 Orders are accepted from within Australia only. International orders are not accepted.
3.2 Style Society may request additional ID (e.g. passport or driver’s licence). Failure to provide ID may result in cancellation.
3.3 All prices are listed in Australian Dollars (AUD).

4. Payment & Authorisation

4.1 The Hire Fee must be paid in full at the time of booking.
4.2 By providing payment details, you:

  • Authorise Style Society to charge your nominated card for all fees due under this Agreement.

  • Confirm you are authorised to use the nominated card.

    Agree not to dispute charges where Style Society has fulfilled its obligations.

4.3 Your card may also be charged for damages, late fees, cancellations, theft, or replacement costs.
4.4 If payment is reversed, you must settle the amount within 48 hours. Failure to do so may cancel your booking and Style Society may pursue recovery through debt collection or legal action.

5. Cancellation by Customer

5.1 Cancellations made more than 21 days before the booking start date: full refund.
5.2 Cancellations made 14–21 days prior: credit note equal to booking amount (6-month expiry).
5.3 Cancellations less than 72 hours before the booking start date: full hire fee charged.
5.4 If the Item has already been dispatched: no refund.
5.5 In exceptional cases, Style Society may consider cancellations outside these terms.

6. Cancellation by Style Society

6.1 Style Society may cancel an order for reasons including (but not limited to):

  • The Item is lost, stolen or damaged before dispatch.

  • Delivery cannot be made on time (e.g. postal delays, late return by another customer).

6.2 Customers will receive a full refund or credit in these cases. Style Society will not be liable for any consequential loss.

7. Damage, Loss & Theft

7.1 Normal wear is expected; excessive damage will incur repair or replacement costs (up to 120% of RRP).
7.2 Lost, stolen, or unreturned items will incur replacement costs (up to 200% of RRP).
7.3 Do not attempt to clean or repair the Item. If you do, additional fees may apply.
7.4 If damage is noticed on delivery, you must notify Style Society within 5 hours with photos. Otherwise, damage may be deemed your responsibility.
7.5 If Australia Post loses an Item, you will not be charged, provided you followed return instructions and lodged the Item over the counter.

8. Late Returns

8.1 Items must be returned by the Return Date.
8.2 Late fees apply at the daily rental rate, capped at 120% of RRP.
8.3 Items lodged after 4pm local time are considered an additional day late.
8.4 Late returns impacting another customer’s booking will result in immediate fees.

9. Delivery

9.1 Shipping is via Express Registered Post (signature required). Delivery is free within Australia.
9.2 Customers must select a Delivery Date at least 1–2 days before their event.
9.3 Customers will receive dispatch and tracking details.
9.4 Delivery is deemed complete once tracking confirms delivery to the nominated address. Incorrect or incomplete addresses are the Customer’s responsibility.
9.5 Style Society is not liable for delays beyond its control.

10. Returns

10.1 Items must be returned by the Return Date using the provided satchel and packaging.
10.2 Customers are responsible for safe packaging during return transit.
10.3 Failure to return on time will result in late fees.

11. Customer Responsibilities

The Customer agrees to:

  • Not lend or sub-hire the Item.

  • Notify Style Society immediately of any loss, theft or damage.

  • Not attempt to clean or repair the Item.

  • Return the Item in accordance with return instructions.

  • Pay any fees incurred under this Agreement.

12. Cleaning

12.1 All Items are professionally cleaned by Style Society after return.
12.2 Customers must not clean or arrange cleaning of Items.
12.3 Permanent stains (e.g. from fake tan) may incur fees of up to 120% of RRP.

13. Intellectual Property

All graphics, logos, photography, web content and branding remain the property of Style Society Pty Ltd and may not be reproduced without permission.

14. Promotions

14.1 Promotional codes may be offered at Style Society’s discretion and may be cancelled at any time without notice.

15. Limitation of Liability

15.1 Style Society is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including:

  • Late, cancelled or non-delivery

  • Event disruption due to Item issues

  • Loss of opportunity, goodwill or income

15.2 Liability is limited to the amount paid by the Customer for the booking.
